Biography

I was born and raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. In 1983 my family moved to the small rural community of Alix, Alberta, where I attended Alix-MAC School. Upon graduating from High School in 1988 I moved to Calgary where I met my wife, Lorie. After completing my B.Sc. Degree (mathematics and computing science) at Augustana University (now a satellite campus for the University of Alberta), my wife and I moved to the city of Lethbridge where I completed my B.Ed. Degree at the University of Lethbridge in the spring of 2006.

I am fascinated with how science, in general, has allowed us to better understand our world and the universe. Since mathematics is the language of science, the importance of its study is without question.

As an educator, I am excited to have an opportunity to help kids to discover, to learn, and to question in order to live a well informed life; to open the door of opportunity is a great privilege, but to empower a child with the tools to confidently walk through that door is a responsibility unlike no other.
